I’m at Starbucks in Winnipeg.
I have wifi.
Oh most glorious day!
Also I may or may not have accidentally started a band.

We leave today. And that is so weird.
I haven’t really been updating or documenting or even taking as many pictures lately because, after these six weeks, this trip is starting to feel like the norm. It feels like this is my life and will be for a long while so I had no reason to document.
I’ll probably do some late updating when I get off the train on Tuesday since right now I have last minute packing to do.
Yesterday there was one last big shebang in the form of a party boat and god what a great way to go out.
And I have a rain-check on one more dance with Anystasia, if I manage to get to Toronto next summer XD
Today after work Aimee decided to get a mermaid on her back in Sharpie (so that it would theoretically stay longer). I usually do ballpoint pen so Sharpie was a brand new monster for me to try and tackle and I’m so glad I did. Got to practice some pointillist shading and texturing/scales. I am really really proud of how it turned out too. Like, silently screaming proud.
I didn’t time it, but our estimate was that it took about 3 hours. This includes the original ballpoint sketch that I later outlined in Sharpie.
I had this ballpoint fish on me all weekend and somebody actually mistook it for a real tattoo. It was a good moment for me.
Fun story about Cirque du Soleil, actually. Since it was outdoors the crowd was standing for the entire show. Lucky for me, I’m bad at being part of a crowd.
Sebastien and I got separated from the rest of the group when the MASSIVE FLOOD OF PEOPLE started surging towards the stage, vying for a good spot. So instead of fighting through that, Seb decided to climb under a fence and get an awesome spot on a hill behind the lighting tower. I tagged along.
So ha, short and thusly slow due to shorter leg-length can totally be a good thing. We got to sit through the entire thing.
And then on the weekend that just passed we were in Quebec City. Let me tell you, all the streets and buildings are so picturesque. I’m amazed the postcard industry makes any money at all.
